Katie Kidd, Cheer Director , Cheer and Tumble Coach, USASF Certified Level 5
In addition to doing recreational cheerleading & sports growing up, Katie cheered throughout middle & high school, and participated in allstar cheerleading as well.  Katie has had 8 years of dance training, 4 years of gymnastics, and 2 years of tumbling.  She has coached tumbling to kids from many area schools, and has choreographed routines for several area middle & high schools.  She organized and taught all the after school cheer programs for Botetourt County elementary schools. She was Cheerleading and Tumbling Director for BGA Jags for 5 years and certified with AACCA.  She also participated on the SW VA Open  Allstar Cheerleading Team.  Teams she has coached have won many regional and National titles, and cheerleaders gone on to cheer for college teams and coach as well.  Katie is a graduate from Virginia Western Community College.  Katie currently coaches the allstar teams and teaches tumbling and cheer classes, and cheers on the Burnouts.  She is USASF safety Certified in all levels (levels 1-6 stunting, levels 1-5 tumbling &  levels 1-6 tosses).  Katie will be coaching Flames, Heat, Blaze & Inferno for the 2009-10 Season.
Alex Peters, Head Cheer & Tumble Coach, USASF Certified Level 5

Alex began as a recreational cheerleader in West Salem and cheered throughout high school for Lord Botetourt as a JV & Varsity cheerleader.  She was captain of the Varsity squad, received a LBHS cheerleading scholarship and was awarded Most Valuable Cheerleader during her senior year.  She went on to cheer for Bridgewater College and coached the BGA Jags Allstars before coming to Synergy.  Alex has choreographed several area middle and high school's dance & competition routines and she helped coach Cave Spring Recreational Cheerleading.  She attended Radford University.   She also participated on the SW VA Open  Allstar Cheerleading Team.  Alex is married and has one son, Mason.  Alex currently coaches the allstar teams and coaches tumbling and cheer classes, and cheers on the Burnouts.  She is USASF safety Certified in all levels (levels 1-6 stunting, levels 1-5 tumbling &  levels 1-6 tosses).  Alex will be coaching Flames & Heat for the 2009-10 Season.

Kristin Kidd-Duncan, Head Cheer & Tumble Coach, USASF Certified Level 5

Kristin, Katie's older sister, also participated in recreational cheerleading and sports, and cheered throughout her school years.  She loves working with kids and also worked as a lifeguard each summer.  In 2004, she received the American Red Cross Good Samaritan Award for heroism for saving a 5 year old boy from drowning, the highest award given to individuals by the Red Cross.  Kristin went on to cheer at Radford University, where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Education and teaches Elementary School art. She has coached tumbling and gymnastics as well as been a cheer coach for BGA Jags and Staunton River High School.  She was a UCA All-American Cheerleader, McDonald's All-American cheerleader and a Christian Cup Invitational All-American Cheerleader. She also cheered for William Byrd and was on the SW Virgina Open Allstar cheerleading Team.  She was 1st runner up in the Miss Roanoke Valley Pageant in 2005 where her talent was of course, cheerleading and tumbling!  Kristin has choreographed some area high school's competition routines.  Kristin currently coaches the allstar teams and teaches tumbling and cheer classes, and cheers on the Burnouts.  She is USASF safety Certified in all levels (levels 1-6 stunting, levels 1-5 tumbling &  levels 1-6 tosses).  Kristin will be coaching Blaze & Inferno for the 2009-10 Season.

Kelly Cook, Cheer Coach, USASF Certified Level 2
Kelly is one of the founding members of Synergy Cheer of VA.  Kelly began coaching youth sports in high school and continued in college with over 10 years of cheerleading experience.  In high school she played basketball and ran track and was All District & State all 4 years of high school.   She was All American in basketball her Junior  year and ODAC Conference All American her last 3 years at Bridgewater College, where she graduated with a dual major in biology and psychology.  She is Vice President of Synergy Cheer and USASF Certified in Levels 1-2.   Kelly will be coaching Embers for the 2009-10 Season.

Emily Craft, Cheer Coach, USASF Certified Level 4
Emily will begin her 5th year of allstar cheer during the 2009-10 Season.  During her years cheering allstar she has cheered for Star City Spirit and currently Synergy Cheer of VA, in team and individual divisions.   She recently was named Senior Best Cheerleader National Champion at Cheer Power NE Nationals and received a bid to the Nations Best Individual Championship in Las Vegas, NV.  Emily also cheered throughout her years at Hidden Valley Middle School where she served as Captain, and completed her second year of cheering  on varsity football, varsity basketball and the competition teams for Hidden Valley High School this past year.  She will again cheer for Hidden Valley Varsity football and the competition team during the 2009-10 season.  Emily  previously coached Hot Shots and Upward youth cheerleading and assisted with Mini Embers during the 2007-08 season and co-coached Tiny Sparks during 2008-09.  She also cheered on Synergy Senior Heat and served as Captain in 2008-09 and will cheer on Senior Blaze and Senior Inferno during 2009-10.  Emily is USASF safety certified in levels 3-4.  Emily will be coaching Embers, Flames & Heat for the 2009-10 Season.

Jessie Anderton, Cheer Coach, USASF Certification Pending
Jessie started out doing recreational cheerleading which she continued for 3 years.  She went on to make the Hidden Valley Middle School Squad for 2 years and was named Captain during 8th grade.  She participated in all star cheerleading with Star City Spirit during 2004-05 during which time they were Cheer Power National Champions. She went on to cheer for Synergy Cheer of VA for 4 years.  During her Junior and Senior years she cheered for Varsity Football and the Competition teams at Hidden Valley HIgh School and was named 2nd team All District her senior year.  She also cheered for Varsity Football and Basketball as well as the Competition team for Ferrum College during the 2008-09 Season and is pursuing a career in health sciences.  She is currently going through USASF Safety Certification.  Jessie will be coaching Embers, Flames & Heat for the 2009-10 Season.
